No need for tracer wire, I’ve heard those walk behind trenchers will find just about everything.
You can use the cat6 pairs as locate tracers.
Why waste your time with 1” spares? Not much you can pull through that.

It took me a hour to unravel wire from this stupid trencher. I kinda forgot I buried that line

When I ran new phone line and cat5 out to the shop, I ran it in some 1" poly water line. A guy with more experience in such matters had recemented it. It's easy to fish new stuff through. The phone and cat5 is direct bury stuff but not really. The poly line provide a little more protection.
