Funny pics and memes and hot ladies

Oh, you poor, simple chicken eater.😁

These are not pictures as you well know.

Yet you still attach them as if they were, instead of linking them. Then you bitch because you "can't" post pictures, because the server is not big enough. Even though the server space is needlessly taken up by people attaching pics that are already hosted elsewhere. It would seem that the only person conspiring to keep you from posting pics is yourself, ya uppity prick. :farkyou:

Ok i gotta ask cause i don't know, when i post pics from links at post images here does it take up server space? I thought it only did when someone post a pic from their computer. inquiring minds want to know. also does you tube tube links take up space?

For everyone regarding pics:

Anything that is "attached" is added to the server and takes up space. Which then slows the site down and eventually costs more money to maintain. Any pic/meme/whatever you found on the internet is already hosted somewhere else. If you saw it on the internet it's already being hosted on someone's server, period. There is no need to host it on this site's server, too. For the slightly more mature members, that's like owning a record, but instead of pulling it off the shelf and listening to the same record multiple times you buy a new copy every single time you want to listen to it. There's also another catch with the server, before you can listen to your new copy you've got to listen to the entire previously purchased album, first. And the other 57 multiple copies you bought before that. And the 65 copies of every other album you bought.

It depends on how you post them. In your particular case, you typically use a pic hosting site for your pics. You post it using the link provided by that site, that is the preferred method. That's the same thing you do for youtube links. That's "hotlinking" and doesn't use this site's server space. It uses the space from whatever server the pic/video is hosted on.

I'm going to try to do a small tutorial here in a few.

If you find an image online, whether that's a pic or meme or whatever, that image has a url.

This pic has a url of "https ://c8.alamy.com/comp/BGNEP7/cow-hiding-behind-burnt-tree-stump-extremadura-spain-BGNEP7.jpg" without the space between the s and the :

When you click on the insert image tab

There are 2 options.

If you click the "upload image" tab you are uploading/adding the pic to the server. If you use the "by url" tab you are linking to the image, this is the preferred method. There is absolutely no reason to use the upload tab for anything from facebook/twitter/reddit/grindr/google etc. Those images can all be uploaded by url. People are just too lazy to do that sometimes. They can't be bothered to take 2 seconds to do it correctly, but have plenty of time to bitch about how it inconveniences them.
